SICOM Group is a leading organization in the financial services sector in Mauritius. Its strategic objective is to reinforce its leading position by accelerating its digital transformation and ensuring the sustainability of its activities. Its ambition is to become a digitally-driven organization, focusing on continuous improvement of the customer experience while pursuing growth and diversification.
Our mission
The objective of our mobile application agency for the SICOM Mobile project was to make policy details (whether auto, life, home, pensions, and more) easier to navigate, while improving the efficiency of the insurance settlement process, ensuring a smooth and convenient user experience.
By including the option of a claims feature, SICOM has also made it easier and quicker to file claims for various incidents, reinforcing customer loyalty to SICOM.
The project team
For this project, the Esokia team comprised 6 members, each with specific responsibilities:
- Back-end developer: his role focused on developing the site's functionalities and APIs, ensuring its smooth operation and seamless integration with other systems.
- Mobile/front-end developer: responsible for the design and development of both the visible part of the application (the front-end) and its internal logic (the back-end) to ensure a fluid and consistent user experience on all platforms.
- QA Tester: responsible for maintaining product quality by running rigorous tests to detect and correct bugs and errors before the platform is deployed.
- Designer: to create an attractive, user-friendly interface, ensuring a consistent, intuitive visual experience for users.
The team's main objectives for the project were as follows:
- Improve the functionality of the mobile application.
- Simplify the application navigation flow.
- Deliver an optimal user experience on mobile.
- Ensure that the app works well on iOS and Android.
- Keep the project on time and on budget.
What technologies were used for this project?
The technologies used for this project included:
- React-Native: JavaScript framework for cross-platform mobile application development.
- Redux: JavaScript framework for managing application state.
- Firebase: Google's mobile application development platform, offering services such as authentication, real-time database, file storage and more.
- React-Native-related packages: Additional packages specifically designed for mobile application development with React-Native.
Esokia was retained by SICOM, the leading insurance company in Mauritius, to develop their mobile application and customer portal. Our expertise played a decisive role in facilitating SICOM users' access to their insurance policies and the transparent payment of their claims.
In addition, the integration of a dedicated claims function for various incidents has further strengthened user trust in SICOM, reflecting our ability to offer innovative, user-friendly solutions that meet the specific needs of our customers.
